Private Lesson Program
Our private lesson program runs year round, and is open to students of all ages and ability levels, from beginner to adult. We offer weekly lessons of 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, or 90 minutes in length. For advanced students and those preparing for grade level exams or entrance auditions, we offer the option of longer lesson times and/or twice weekly sessions. All students enrolled in our private lesson program are welcome to take part in our group classes.
In general, we recommend weekly half hour lessons for young children who are just beginning the instrument. We welcome and encourage the parents of children under the age of seven to sit in on lessons in order to help reinforce practice and posture habits at home. We are also happy to discuss student progress with parents at any time. We typically do not teach students younger than six years of age, however, we do welcome inquires from parents, and will work with children under six on a case-by-case basis.
We love working with adult learners! In-fact, they are some of our favorite students to teach. We understand it can be difficult and intimidating to learn a completely new skill set after mastering so many other areas of career and life. We realize our adult learners are not looking to become career musicians - they simply want to learn for their own enjoyment. To that end, we structure the pace, repertoire, and style of the lesson to fit the goals and comfort level of our adult students.
We understand that finding the right teacher is an extremely personal process. For a student to truly flourish, there must be an intuitive connection that allows the student to "click" with the teacher. If the right relationship is in place, a student will feel inspired, motivated, and challenged to grow as the develop a sense of trust.
