Group Classes

We are currently offering three group classes which meet weekly at the Sweet Music Studio in Holyoke, MA, and one, which meets at the Keene Community Music Center in Keene, NH.

Advanced Mandolin Group Class (AMG)

The AMG meets Mondays from 7-9pm at the Sweet Music Studio in Holyoke, MA.  The AMG is the core group for the South Hadley Mandolin Orchestra.  This is a group of adults who have been playing mandolin-family instruments for 5+ years.  The group studies string quartets and chamber music from the Classical (1750–1820) and Romantic (c.1780–1910) eras.  Here are some of the works the group has been studying:

Mandolin for Beginners Group Class (MFB)

The MFB class meets Wednesdays from 7-9pm at the Sweet Music Studio in Holyoke, MA.  The MFB class is a group of adults who have just started on the mandolin, or have been playing it for less than 1 year.  The group is learning how to play the mandolin, how to read music, and how to accompany others using chords and improvisation.  We are also studying relevant songs, learning chords, melodies and how to sing.  The group is a lot of fun and there are always openings.  If you would like to join the Mandolin For Beginners Group, please contact us through the form on the side bar.  The cost is $15 per class and there is no enrollment fee.

In addition to the Holyoke, MFB class, we are now offering the same class at the Keene Community Music Center in Keene, NH.  When contacting us, please not your preference in the comments box!

Folk Music Group Class (FMG)
